Kuala Lumpur

Port Kelang for Kuala Lumpur

Port Kelang is the gateway to Kuala Lumpur, the capital and largest city of Malaysia. Mostly surrounded by forests and hills, it is the only city in the world to have a million year old primary forest within the heart of the city.

Port Kelang is approximately a one and a half hour drive from Kuala Lumpur so it was easier to do a tour.

We went to the KL Tower to view the city from the observation deck and after stopping for a photo at the Petronas Twin Towers we went to the National Museum.  We found it interesting, more so because we didn't have the guide with us and we could spend longer on what interested us and not what someone else thinks we should be interested in.

We then went on to a hotel for lunch. I enjoyed it but Terry didn't really like it apart from the ice cream!

After lunch we then had a few photo stops at the Old Railway Station, the National Mosque and Independence Square.  The latter is the former playing field of the Royal Selangor Club.

Before driving home we went to Central Market for a little bit of shopping before our drive back to the ship.

We have been lucky with the weather today. We arrived in a storm but it cleared before we went out, we had a thunderstorm during the day when we were inside and as I am writing this we  have another storm. Weather for tomorrow is likely to be the same too.
